ABOUT ABOUT

First United Methodist Church continues its 2017 CONCERTS@FIRST series with a concert featuring The Denver Brass, and Celtic Colorado Pipes and Drums, Friday, October 6 at 7:30 PM. Collaborating with the Denver Brass and Celtic Pipers will be Joseph Galema, Principal Organist at First United Methodist.

Founded in 1981, The Denver Brass is recognized nationally and internationally as one the premiere ensembles of its kind. Comprised of 14 full-time professional musicians, The Denver Brass offers its audiences an entirely new experience by skillfully blending the highest caliber of musical excellence with traditional brass music, original compositions, and multi-media techniques.

The burnished sound of The Denver Brass will be joined by the skirl of bagpipes and the resonant drums of Celtic Colorado Pipes and Drums.  Dressed in kilts and sporrans, Celtic Colorado thrills audiences with the soul-stirring sound of the bagpipes.

FUMC’s Principal Organist, Joseph Galema, will add to the excitement of the evening when he joins the brass and pipes performing Highland Cathedral, Scotland the Brave, Hector the Hero, and Amazing Grace on the magnificent organ at First United Methodist Church.
